HAWTREY COMEDY COMPANY.
It is interesting to note that ' Tom, Dick, and Harry,' the play which ia to open the two nightb' season of the Hawtrey Comedy Company at the Volunteer Hall, Hamilton, on Thursday evening next, was written by a lady, Mrs Pucheco, who has managed to cram into three clever acts an amount of fun and witty dialogue which has stamped this comedy farce as one of the best plays of its kind ever put before the public. In this play Mr Hawtrey has the part of a retired tnilitnry officer, with ind aputahle Mgns of a liver, and upon him falls most of the work. The piece is one which keeps every character on the stage perpetually on the move, and the play never lags from start to finiih. ' loin, Dick, and Harry will be preceded by ' A Hiahlanrl Legacy,' by Brarlon Thomas, spoken of as a moso amusing and pathetic comedietta. On Friday evening ' The Lady of Ostend ' will be stated, and should ensure a crowded house. There seems to be every prospect of a highly successful season for this favourite company, and it certainly deserves it.
