HAMILTON CHESS CLUB.

The Hamilton Chess Club has been eudeavouiing to arr.Dge marches this fleuson with Waihi, Napier, aud Wanganui, but difficulties have arisen in each case.. There appears no immediate prospect of a contest. The annual handicap is drawing to a close. Messrs Stevens and Worsley are even for first place, with one game each to play, Alesßrs McCrea and Going being a j game behind them. An experiment was tried with the ' Ladder ' system at the commencement of this season. In order to ensure that the junior players would meet the seniors at least once in the season, the ladder was reversed, thus bringing the juniors on top and the 'cracks' at the bottom.
