WEDDING BELLS.
A wedding which created a good deal of interest in Hamilton East was that of Mr T. F. Dowd, the only: son of Captain Dowd, of I'arnell, and Miss Isabella Kelly, second daughter of Mr Hugh Kelly, of this town, which took place at St. Mary's Church. Hamilton, yesterday morning. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty cream silk dress and the orthodox wreath and veil. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Misses S. Kelly and A. Dowd, who wore pretty white muslin dresses with black picture hats, and also gold brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr P. Kelly acted as best man, and, in the absence of Father Darby, the ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Father Bowen. At its conclusion the young couple left for their future home in Auckland.
One of the prettiett weddings held in the district for some time past was solemnised yesterday in the Church of St. Stephen's, Tamahere, the Ven. Archdeacon Willis officiating. The contracting parties were Mr Thos. J. H. OJaudiu, of Silverdale, Hamilton, and Miss Eva Broome, of Tamahere. Tho Church was nicely decorated for the occasion by the girl friends of the bride, and was crowded with friends and wtll-wishera. The service was fully choral. The bride, who was given away by her brother (Mr J. H. Broome) looked exceedingly pretty in ivory velvet with very handsome collar of Bilk point laco, the bodice being trimmed with silk embroidery and orange spray. She wore the customary bridal veil and orange blossoms and carried a handsorr.o bouquet. Miss Kronfeld, of Auckland, attended as bridesmaid, and was daintily dressed in creme-figured silk with pretty white hat. The bridegroom's gift to the bridesmaid was a neat gold brooch set with peala and rubies. Messrs P. E. N. b'audin and R. H. McCallum accompanied the bridegroom in the capacity of groomsmen. The wedding presents numbered considerably over a hundred, and plainly manifested the great popularity enjoyed by the young couple. Mr and Mrs Thos. Gaudin left by the express train for Auckland, where they intend to remain for a week or two before returning to their home in the Waikato.
