CO-OPERATIVE WORKMEN'S SELECTIONS.
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION) Wellington, Last Night. The Minister for Lindi is pushing on with a scheme to enable co-operative labourers to take up selections for settlement purposes. Mr Marsb, who has had ten years' experience in connection with special settlements, has the matter in hand, and blocks of land are being surveyed and cut up in Wellington, Tara« naki, and Auckland districts. Mr Marsh has now over 250 bona fide applicants ready to- take up land when available. It is significant that the old stagers show not the least inclination to avail them--sclves of the opportunity of obtaining homesteads. It is the younger navvy who has been engaged in different classes of work in country districts that evinces a desire to make a home for himself and those belonging to them.
