ST. PETER’S GUILD SALE OF WORK.

Yesterday the ladies of St. Peter’s Workers’Guild held a sale of work iu the Sunday school, Hamilton. The building, which had been prettily decorated, was well stocked with articles of a varied and useful character, most of them the handiwork of the members of the Guild, and the excellence of the goods bore masked testimony to the energy and skill of the ladies. The sale was opened shortly after two o’clock by His Lordship the Primate who, in the course of his remarks, said he was very glad that he had been able to accept the invitation to open the bazaar, and that he had been very much astonished on entering the door to see such a splendid collection of work. Bazaars were very desirable, and should be encouraged for the reason that they enabled people to contribute I heir large or small share of the work. They gave many people an opportunity of assisting in the good work of the church who would otherwise lie debarred from doing so. Another great advantage was that the church peiple were brought together, and this was a most important matter. In mo t districts people were fully occupied and saw very little of each other, and it was most essential that good feeling should exist between them. He wished the promoiers every success, and expressed a hope that their best wishes would be realised, and tiien declared the sale of work open.

• The stall holders were soon hard at work disposing of the goods, which, in most cases, met a ready sale. The’attendance during the afternoon and evening was good, the sum of £9 2s being taken at the doors. The various stall-holders and the amounts taken by them wore as follows Work stall (Mesdames Coates, Graham and Sandes), £4l 3s 6d ; flower stall (Mrs Brewis), £4 lls 91; jumble stall (Mrs Potter), £2 12s 2d ; confectionery stall (Misses Coates), £3 10s 84 ; competition stall (Mrs Burd), £3 9s 6d ; refreshment stall (Mrs F.
