A rot then set in and two more wickets fell with an additional score—Howell 9, McLeod 9, Kelly (not out) 0, Darling (not out) 0. At 12.60 seven wickets were down for 112-Kelly 0. /it 1.5 seven wickets were down for 129 —Darling (not out) 14, Larer (not out) 3. At the luncheon adjournment eight wickets were down for 156 —Darling (not out) 34, Laver 6, Trumble (not out) 4. At 2.42 the Australians were all out for 168. FURTHER DETAILS. AUSTRALIANS FOLLOW ON. ENGLISHMEN WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 124 RUNS.

The Australians commenced to follow on shortly after 3 o’clock. Six wickets were down for 89, when Trumble joined Gregory, and some lively play ensued, Trumble nicely placing boundary bits. When Howell joined Gregory the fonuGr gave a sensational display of terrific strokes. He knocked up 31 in 13 minutes. McLaren in this match completed-a thousand runs in test matches, his total being 1049, and average 37'46, the only other batsman to reach four figures in test games are Grace, Shrewsbury, Gift o, Darling, Gregory, and Bannerman. olt is claimed that the attendance at the match on Saturday constituted a world’s record, it being computed at 40,000.
