THE DEATH OF THE LATE AMEER.

London, October 1(5. Great Betjain has acknowledged Habibullah as the Ameer. Lord Curzou transmitted to him King Edward’s condolences at (he loss of his father, and his good wishes to the new ruler. The newspaper Pioneer’s Cabul correspondent stales that the late Ameer, after a paralytic stroke, summoned his family and notables to his beside on September 28th, and asked them to make suggestions as to his successor. The nominated Habibullah, and the late Ameer then presented him with his sword, belt, precious stones, and will containing instructions how to govern the people. He then ordered his younger son to place the crown on Habibullah’s head. The late Ameer died on October Ist, but his death was not announced until the 3rd, so as to enable Habibullah to arrange a peaceful accession.
