THE £SOOO BUBSCIPTION. {Received Oct. 14, 12.15 p.m.) London, October 13. The Spectator publishes in RhodesSchnadhorst correspondence relative to the subscription of £SOOO by Mr Rhodes to the Liberal party’s funds. Mr Rhodes n prcsenlatives at r horrified at Mr ’ speech, and was turbed by Mr Gladstone’s foMßjlowing the withdrawal from EgySr If his (Air Rhodes) wishes were no\ nitß he desired that the money should be given to charity. There is no indication in the correspondence that Air Schnadhorst acquainted Air Gladstone of Air Rhodes’ offer, but ho calmed Air Rhodes’ anxiety by stating that Lord Rosebery’s policy us Foreign Secretary would ho very different from that of Lord Granville’s pliant suppleness. The newspapers blame Air Schnadhorst's duplicity and exonerate the Liberal leaders of bargaining with Air Rhodes.
