There is no indication in the correspondence that Air Schnadhorst acquainted Air Gladstone of Air Rhodes’ offer, but ho calmed Air Rhodes’ anxiety by stating that Lord Rosebery’s policy us Foreign Secretary would ho very different from that of Lord Granville’s pliant suppleness. The newspapers blame Air Schnadhorst's duplicity and exonerate the Liberal leaders of bargaining with Air Rhodes.
