DUNEDIN SHOOTING AFFRAY.
(by telegraph —press ass. /(ration) Dunedin, Last Night. Further particulars of lire Dunedin fhooting affray are to hand. It appears that Mrs Pearce quarrelled with Mrs Rcnniek and the latter’s mother, and not being able to eject Mrs Renniek from her house, she took down a six-chambered revolver, which she obtained during the burglar scar e, and fired one chamber. The bullet struck Mrs Renniek in the face, emerging near the angle of the jaw. A neighbour, named Russell, rushed in and disarmed Mrs Pearce and removed Sirs Renniek to the hospitalMrs Pearce also threw scalding water over Mrs Rennick’s mother, who did not actively participate in the quarrel, Mrs Renniek is not seriously injured, but her mother is considerably scalded about the face. When arrested, Mrs Pearce, who was quite cool, said ; 1 I’m not going to be skull-dragged by these women,’ and a ided that she would serve the same to anyone else w ho interfered with her.
