GRIMSBY TROUBLE. Further rioting has taken place at Grimsby. The police charged the mob with batons. Subsequently the troops were summoned, the Riot Act read, and order restored. COLONIAL EXHIBITION. London, September 20. An Australian and New Zealand Exhibition, under the auspices of the Australian Chamber of Commerce is projected at Earlscourt for 1903. It will not he held unless all the Commonwealth States are represented. A large guarantee fund is being organised. All the Agents-General, exception of Sir Horace Toner and the Hon W. P. Reeves, who are absent, approve, though they have not committed their Governments. Influential aristocrats, bankers and commercial men support the proposal. It, is hoped that the Australian Chambers of Commerce will co operate. The King’s patronage is confidently antieipi ted. COLOMBIAN REBELLION. New Yokic, September 20. The Venezuelan troops co operating with the Coloml ian Liberal forces were badly defeated by the Colombian Government troops at Riohacha, in the eastern province of Colombia. A Venezuelan general was amongst the captured. THE STEEL STRIKE. Washington, September 23All the steel strikers have resumed except the lin-platers. THE WAR IN CENTRAL AMERICA. London, September 21. French cruisers prevented a conflict, between Venezuelan and Colombian gunboats.
