(Received September 21, 9.25 a.m.) ORDER FOR OATS. Melbourne, September 21. It is understood that a parcel of oats contracted for on the War Office account with a Melbourne firm covers 5000 tons.
HORDERN’S INSURANCES, Sydney, This Day. The adjustment of Hordern’s insurance claims, which approximated £300,000, distributed over 43 offices, has been completed. It took Mr Sam. Hordern ten hours to sign the ’claims, he having to append his name 1700 times. Excepting Whitley’s (London), Hordern’s is a record for a single fire insurance demand.
