L'OTURK.— The Rev Bennet gave his lecture on the native question, in the Holy Trinity church on Friday evening. There was only a medium attendance. A collection was taken up for the Maori School for girls. District School.—On the 18th inst. Mr Grierson, Inspector of Schools. The examination of the children lasted two days, with the result that over 90 per cent of the pupils were successful in obtaining promotion to higher classes. Considering that this result has been maintained for three consecutive years, and that during the present year, one pupil passed the Junior Scholarship Examination, and two others the Pupil Teacher candidates "Examination, the school must be in abound and highly satisfactory condition. The parents, children and teachers are to be congratulated cn such successful work.—Own Correspondent. v
