The Waikato Argus Opfioh. This Day. MR W. J. HUNTER’S OHAUPO SALE. On Tuesday at Mr \V. J. Hunter’s yards over 300 head of cattle were yarded. Dairy cows were numerous, about 50 being offered of a fairly good class. All good sorts were in demand and sold freely up to £8 ss. Young cattle were fairly plentiful and sold at ruling prices. Not many grown steers were offered, but empty store cows were in demand. Beef was also plentiful and sold fairly well. The following are the prices :— Dairy cows, good sorts and close to profit, £fa to £8 ss; backward springers, £4 to £5 10s ; springing heifers, well-bred, £5 to £7 5s j calves, mixed sexes, 37» 6d to £2 2s; 12 to 15 month old well-bred heifers, £2 10s to £2 13s; two-year-old steers, £4 4s ; 2% to 3-year old steers, in low condition, £4 12s to £4 13s : empty cows, £3 to £4; three-year-old steers, in fresh condition, £6 2s 6d ; fat cows, £5 5s to £6 ss.
