The Waikato Abous Omens, This Day. MR W. J. HUNTER’S SPRING CATTLE SALE AT CAMBRIDGE ' This sale was held on Thursday, when the yard? were full to overflowing, close upon 1,000 head being offered by auction. Buyers were present from all parts of the neighbouring districts, and from Wairnugi and the back blocks between Waikato, Waipa and the West coast. Dairy cows were in good demand, and a large number were quitted: and, in fact, everything but weakly calves and low-conditioned steers, found a ready sale The following were the prices Calves, in low condition, mixed sexes, £1 15s to £2 6s; yearling steers, £2 10s to £3-10 a; yearling heifers, £2 3s to £2 10a; 2-year old steers, £3 10s to £4 ; 2J-year-old steers, £4 4s to £4 11s ; 3J-year-old steers, £5 15s to £6 5s ; empty cows, £2 10s to £4; fat cows, £4 15s to £5 6s ; dairy cows, £4 10s to £7 7s; springing heifers, £4 lOs-to £7. A good few were passed at the auction, but they were all subsequently sold, •xcept four pens of low-conditioned calves. MR W. J. HUNTER’S TE AWAMCTU SALE. Mr W. J. Hunter reports that at his Te Awamntu sale there was a large attendance of the public, no doubt occasioned by the annual sale of Messrs H. and J. Goodfellow’s horses, which were a real good lot, and elicited keen competition. All sold, except one aged mare, as follows; Rising 3-year-old fillies, £3l 5s to £34 5s ; ditto colts, £29 10a to £37 ss; 4-year-o!d fillies, broken to chains, £42 10s to £45 ; aged mares, from £l2 10s to £25 10a. A large number of cattle were sold at fully Ohaupo prices. Calves and yearlings, £2 7a to £2 15a ; empty cows, £4 10s to £4 ; fat cows, £4 10s to £6 10s. A large number of pigs from six to eight weeks old sold from 8s to 12s 6d ; 4-months-old, 17s. Fowls, in good demand, Is to Is 6d ; turkeys, mixed, from 3s to 4s 6d. A waggon made £U Us.

AUCKLAND MARKETS. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons Report.—Horses: On Friday last, at the Haymarket, we submitted, and sold, an average number of horses. We had a large attendance, and among them many buyers, consequently competition was good, and nearly the whole of our entry changed hands at satisfactory prices. Heavy horses were not represented, and are required. Active draughts sold up to £4l fcr a handsome 4yr . old mare ; medium, £lB to £26 ; light, unbroken colt, £2l ; good hacks and buggy classes, £l2 to £l6 : light and gig ponies, £5 to £8 ; sidesaddle, £4 10 ; harness, £2 10s to £4 the set ; gigs, £7 10s and £l3. Rides, Skins, Tallow, etc. ; Rather a smaller catalogue than usual in all lines. Competition good, and everything sold at at fully last week’s quotations At Remuera. on Thursday, dairy cows were well represented, and sold freely throughout. Prices for those at profit were from £5 to £7 10s. The store pens were well filled with a goojl class of cattle, for which good "values were received. The advertised steers brought from £5 to £6 12s fid ; 2-years old, £4 5s to £4 15s ; dry cows, £2 15s to £4. Fat and young calves, short of requirements, advanced in price. Fresh-dropped were from 5s to 10s ; medium 12s to 15s ; others £1 to £1 ss; 50 sold. Fat cattle, penned in average numbers, were steady at last week’s quotations—£l to £1 3a the 1001b for steers and heifers ; aged cows 16s to 18s. Steers ranged in price from £6 15s to £ll 15s; cons, £5 5s to £S 5s ; 220 sold. There was but a moderate master of sheep penned. Those of good quality brought from 16s to 18s fid ; others 10s fid to 14s ; hoggets fin to 16s each. Spring lambs, the first for the season, from Messrs Martin Eros, and IT. R. McKenzie, breught from 13s 3d to 15s. The pig pens were fairly well fiiled and sold well, porkers fetching from £1 to £1 12s; small 3s to 12s fid ; medium stores 12a fid to 15s; no heavy weights penned; 50 sold,
