DEATH FROM SUFFOCATION.
(by telegraph—pekss association.) Napier, Last Night. The inquest on the body of Elizabeth Schmidt’s infant, found dead in bed, was resumed at Hastings this morning. The jury returned a verdict that death was due to suffocation, hut there was no evidence to show whether this was accidental or otherwise. A rider was added to the verdict, that the mother was guilty of culpable negligence.
