N.Z. DAIRY ASSOCIATION , LIMITED.
♦ MEETING OF PUKERIMU SUPPLIERS. SUGGESTED MEETING OF DELEGATES. A meeting of milk suppliers in the Pukerimu district was held on Wednesday, when the recently-issued propectus of the New Zealand Dairy Association, Limited, was discussed at considerable length. There was a large attendance, and Mr Jos. Gane occupied the chair. In the course of the discussion it was pointed out that the time had arrived when there should be unanimity of action on the part of the whole of the suppliers in the Waikato, and now that matters had reached such a stage as the conversion of the Dairy Association’s business into a limited liability company, it would be manifestly unwise for some centres to take up shares in the proposed company, which others held aloof and possibly decided to go into a purely co-operative concern. It was eventually decided that the best course to adopt would be for each creamery district to hold a meeting as soon as possible, and appoint four delegates, whose duty it would be to meet the delegates from other centres in say Hamilton, or some convenient centre, when the whole question could be fully discussed "and some united notion be decided upon. Messrs Jos. Gane, Wm. Scott, H. J. Qreenslade and W. St.irgas were oppointed delegates for the Pukerimu district.
The following letter has been addressed to the various creamery centres hy the chairman of the meeting (Mr Jos Gane), to whom all replies should be, sent, as it is desired to have die meeting of delegates as soon as possible upon a date to be fixed. We have beee requested testate that should any centres have been inadvertently overlooked, it is hoped they will appoint delegates Pukerimu, 28th August, ‘l9Ol. Sir. — I have the honor to inform you that a meeting of the suppliers to the Pukerimu Creamery, held to day |to discuss the recently issued prospectus of the |New Zealand Dairy Association Limited, it was decided that with a view to unanimity of action it is desirable that conference of delegates front the whole of the creamery districts should he held. With this end in veiw Messrs J. Sane, H.' J. Greenslade, W. Scott and W. Sturges were appointed as delegates from the Pukerimu district and I was requested to write and ask whethrr you would ceovene a meeting in your district and appoint delegates, who would meet those from the other centres at, say Hrmilton. The whole matter could then be thoroughly discused and united action taken by the suppliers either in the direction of applying for shares in the proposed a new company, or the formaeion of an Association upon strictly co-operative lines.
