KIHIKIHI.
Tomn Board.— The usual meeting was held on Friday last, Present. Messrs Clifford (chairman pro km) Carboy, Kmsly, ami Moody- Correspondence. Telegram from Opotiki Town Board, ask ing the co-operation of the Board in opposing the ntiolitiou of Town Board* under the Counties Act. The clerk reported that he and Mr Emaly had replied to the Opotiki Board,and had written to Mr Laeg, M. H. K. who replied that he would do all in his power to have this clause in the new- Act amended. It was resolved that Mr TSmsly and the clerk's action in the matter bo approved and that they be authorised to attend the absence of the chairman, (Mr (.race) to any further correspondence on the subject.—Mr J. Temple's tender for splitting posts at £ 1 15s per 100 was the only one received. Mr Moody was authorised to offer Mr Temple £1 10a, and to arrange with him, if agreed upon, to have the work done. —It was decided to have the sink opposite the Star Hotel filled up with bricks and eemeut to the level of the pipe, and that the sink and watertable opposite the Alpha Hotel be attended to, Mr Corboy to superintend the work.—Mr Wilson’s application to have the entrance opposite bis house improved was considered, and it was decided to offer to supply the pipes required, the applicant to carry out the work.—A petition from residents in Rollestonstreet to have the road and footpath properly formed was considered and the Board resolved to visit and inspect before deciding in the matter. —The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr P. Hunter re clearing his lot, No. 164, of furze, etc. The following accounts were passed for payment:—J. Temple, £1 7s 8d ; J. Kennedy, £1 ss. Changes.— Mr Barnes has, I understand, sold out his hotel, the Alpha, to whom lam not informed.—Mr Qualtrough having sold his farm will shortly reside in the township, and Mr Armstrong and family will shortly be leaving us. Afarewell social is being arranged.— (Own Correspondent.
