The Hamilton Rugby Union matches were coutinued on Saturday last, when the City anil Suburbs teams met. This match proved to be the cloaest game of the season, and it was only by a rare piece of good luck that City managed to add another win to their list. Suburbs had hy far the best of the game, and should have snored on two or three occasions, but their forwards were much, too anxious, aud to their hard kicking when near the line is to be attributed their defeat. City four points margin was obtained from a mark by Greenwood, Evans kickins a splendid goal. Play had only been atarted a few minutes when Suburbs was forced although tlure was no danger of a score, the forc>; being necessitated by a lonu kicK. Suburbs continued to attack and several opportunities to score were lost through hard •kicking. City then rallied and got through to the Suburbs' 25 where GreenWood by .'imart play got a mark, which Evans converted gaining four points. This was the only score during the game. In the 2nd spell play was much more and exciting, Although even more in favour of the suburban players. Time after time they got through to their opponpnts' Mine, but could not. manage to score, and this was not due so much to the strong defence as to the weak attack, and Suburbs ara sadly in want of a good scorine man in the forward ranks. During the second spell Kelly, one of the Suburbs men, fell on the knee of another player, and was badly winded. He was disabled for an hour or so, but in the hands of Dr Douglas, who was on the ground at the time, he soon recovered.
