THE ROYAL VISIT.
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION) Wellington, Last Night. Thk Premier has received a communication from His Excellency the Governor at Sydney statins that a decision has come to that their Royal Highnesses will return from Dudedin to Lytteltou and leave the latter port in the Ophir for Hobart, and there ia no chance of this being altered. The Premier has received a telegram from Captain Gilbert Mair that the leading Maori chiefs at Rotorua urge that no concessions should be given by the Government to the natives who wish to make a demonstration on the occasion of the arrival of the Royal visitors at Auckland. The message is to the effect that the chiefs believe that the Auckland reception proposal is intended to embarrass the Government and spoil the display at Rotorua. The chiefs fear that it is a movement on the part of the King natives to strengthen their position, and that if the latter succeed in their present intention offence will-bo given to natives who have been consistently loyal, and who are doing their best to meet the wishes of His Excellency the Governor in carrying out what has been approved by the Royal visitors.
