WEIiOOJfE SODiAfc.—On Wednesday eveninn a social waa hehl in tho Wnsloyan Chapel for the purpose of welcoming Mr A. C. Randerson, the Home Missionary appointed by the recent Wcsleyan Conference to the Huntly district. Considering the boisterous state of the weather the attendance was good, and the applause showed the appreciation by the audience of the various items. The chairman (Mr Win. Leather), after some introductory remarks, tend apologies for absence from the Revs. Mason and Ward of Huntly, and Blamires of Hamilton. Among other items in an interesting programme, songs were rendced by Messrs Holtham and Randerson, a duet by Misses and Wear, and a violin solo by Mr Arndt. Miss Johnston rendering tho various accompaniment in her usual atyle. Refreshments were dispensed during the evening. At the close Mr Randerson, in rem ruing thnks for the hearty welcome rendered, claimed the sapport and sympathy (>'• the people, for wdiose sake he intended to labour assiduously and, he hoped, successfully. —(Own correspondent )
