ISLAND MASSACRE.
Received April 24, 10.12 p.m. Sydney April 23. PROBABLY nothing will positively bo knoivn as to the reported masacre of missionaries till the Resident Magistrate, who has pone to the scene, reports. lu reply to inquiries by the Secretary of the London Missionary Society, .sir John Douglas to-day wirt:d that ho had some doubts about the massacfc, but that the officer i" charge of »he district fully believed the reports.
