MAIL NOTICES.
RATES OF POSTAGE. The postage on letters and letter within the colony, and for the United Kingdom, Canada, Cape Colony, India, and practically all other places in the British Empire, except Australia, is nowone penny for each half-ounce. The rate to foreign countries will remain at 2|d, and to Australia 2d, until further notice. The parcel rate to the United Kingdom is : 31b, Is; 71b, 2s ; 111 b, 3< Attention is drawn to the fact that rates of postage, except for letters and letter-cards, have not been reduced. Commercial papers, news-papers, etc., require the some postage as before.
Mails close at the Hamilton Post-offi"e on and after February 8, for the undermentioned places,as under: Auckland and intermediate offices— Daily, 9.15 a.m. and 1 30 p.m. Auckland only—Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 12.35 p.m. Paeroa, Te Aroha, "Waihou, Piako, Morrinsville, Matamata, Tirau, Okoroire, Putaruru, Waharoa, Tarukenga, Rotorua and Mamaku—Mondays, Wednesdays ahd Fridays. 1.30 p.m.; Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 10.55 a.m. Ohaupo, Ngaroto, Te Awamutu, Pirongia and New stead Daily, 1.30 p.m. Cambridge—Daily, 1.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m. Frankton Junction—Daily, 9.15 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. Aotea—Tuesday3 and Saturdays, 8 a.m. Te Mata—Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 7.45 a.m. Hinuera—Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 1.30 p m. Walton—Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 1.30 p.m. Te Kuiti, Otorohanga and Poro-o-tarao—Mondays and Thursdays, 1.30 p.m. •Tauwharc—Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 1.30 p.m. Kirikiriroa—Daily, 10 a.m. and 2 30 p.m. Tamahere and Hautapu—Daily, 2.3 C p.m l Whatawhata, Waitetuna.
