There was a pood attendance of neighbouring farmers. The 36 /'dairy cows iu milk sold well, making from £3 10s to £7 16s and averaging £5 15s; young calves, las; medium draught : mare, £'29 ; light springcart mare, £l9 10e ; springcart, £8 ; sundries and fur niture made usual rates. At Waihou ou Friday last we yarded 400 head of cattle. Prices if anything, for all classes were a trifle easier. Kmpty fresh cows, £3 7s 6d to £4 ; fresh 2j-year-old steers, £5 to £5 ss; fresh three-year-old steers, £5 16s to £6 ; 1| to two-year-old steers, £3 10s to £4 ss; good yearling steers, up to £2 18s; yearlings (mixed), £2 6s to £2 9s; J 5 mouths steers, £3 43 ; yearling , and 15 months heifers (choice), £2 lis ; f 6 springing heifers, £4 to £4 10s; fat cows, /_ £5 to £6 ss, the majority being wellHone heavy weights ; fat steers, £6 6s to £B, according to weight; fat ewes, 13s ' 6d; fat'sheep (mixed), 14s to 14s 01; :! lambs, 7s 6d ; pigs (weancrs), 4s 6d to 7s. STOCK SALE AT AWAKINO. The saleyards at Awakino, half-way to New Plymouth erected by Mr Newton King, were opened on Thursday. Over 100 head of stock were yarded, and there was a large attendance of representative buyers from Opunake, Pihama, Stratford, Waikato, Mahenui, aud intervening districts. All were sold at the hammer, being a splendid lot. Prices were very satisfaetoiy. Heifers, 12 to 15 months, £2 14s tj £3 ; steers, £3 to £3 Bs. A magniiieeut line of two to two aud a-half steers, from Mr W. Kelly, Awakino, was much admired, and brought £4 19s each. A Goo line of bullocks, two and a-half to three years, belonging to Messrs (jsorge and King, brought £5 14s each ; bulloeks, three to four and a-half years, £5 17s 61 to £7 10s; slore cows, £3 12s to £4.
