In eeiexls, maize is enquired for; the supply is uot equal to the demand and prices have hardened. Oats remain about the same. Butter and eggs are in good supply; our prices under the hammer f.>r some jtime past have been in advance of local quotations. New cheese is wanted. Fruit: The market is bare pending the arrival cf Island steamers. Han Francisco apples are about clear, and there is a better demand for lemons. Poultry it in short supply on account of the holiday ; high prices were obtainc I for good table birds.
