ENTERTAINMENT AT CAMBRIDGE.
The entertainment given at Cambridge ou Friday evening last, in aid of the Waikato Hunt Club and the Cambridge Athletic Club, was a pronounced success. The hall was crowded and we trust the energy displayed by the promoters will be rewarded with a substantial sum to divide between the clubs. The first pail of the programme consisted of a concert, to which the Cambridge Orchestra contributed two selections. Mr E. Bouillon cave a good interpretation of " The Bedouin's Love Song," and Miss Cave was also very successful with " The Cay Tom Tit,'' for which she was eiond. Mrs Boston-Couper brought down the house with " The Cay Parisienne " and she had to repeat it ; she was also equally successful in the trio, " When I Get Hold of a Cood Looking He." in which she was joined by her husband and Mr Richardson, and it bad to be repeated in its entirely. Mr Richardson was encored for "The Languid Man," and Mr Coupei's " Our Stores," in which a number of local hits were introduced, caused great laughter, and being encjred he gave. " Clever Mr Green." Master J. Banks contributed a recitation, " The Pick of the Kennel." The second part of the programme was the farce, " My Turn Next." The cast was as follows : Taraxicum Twitters (A Village Chemist), Mr E, Bouillon; Tim Bdua (His Pro fessional Assistant), Mr Boston-Coupe- ; To.n Trtp (A Commercial Traveller), Mr J. L S. Kichardson ; Farmer "Wheatear (from Banbury), Mr K. J. Wilkinson; Lydia [Twitters' wife), Mrs BostonCouper ; Cicely (her niece), Miss Wright; Peggy (Twitters' maid servant and housekeeper), Miss K. Cave. The whole tf the diameters were well pourtrayed, but the burden of the work lay with Mrs Couper, Miss Cave, Messrs Bouillion and Couper, who all acted splendidly, and the minor parts were well taken. The thanks of the members of the two clubs are due to those ladies and gentlemen who gave the performance ; to the orchestra for assisting ; nnd specially to Mrs Gallagher and Mr E. J. Wilkinson for the able and willing assistance they rendered. Pressure on our spice prevents us giving a more extended report of this performance. I
