A chain the wide world girdles Of praise, that dotli not cease To Christ the King of Glory, The Mighty Prince of Peace ! But 'midst our jubiliation For joyful news received, We pray Thy consolation For hearts and homes bereaved Whose heroes brave arc bearing The palm where conflicts cease: The victors' laurels wearing In Heaven's eternal peace.
