IN CHINA.
COMMAND OF THE ALLIED FORCKS. London, August 9. General Count von Waldersee, late chief of the General Staff of the German army, has been appointed Commander-in-Chief of the allied forces in China. He sails in a fortnight. The Czar has congratulated General Waldersee on his appointment. The selection is generally approved.
