LAND GRANTS FOR SOLDIERS. TREASON IN PRETORIA. COMPENSATION FOR LOSSES. London, July 10. TnE Government will appoint a small Commission of experts to investigate locally the question of land grants for soldiers in South Africa. Several members of the Dutch Amlance Corps at Pretoria have been convicted of carryinginformation andammunition to the Boers, and have been sent to Capetown. Sir W. F. Hely-Hutchison, Governor of Natal, is conferring with Sir A. Milner, relative to Natal retaining the Wakkerstroom-Vryheid districts in the Transvaal, as compensation for its losses in the war. BETHLEHEM CAPTURED. TWO DAYS' SHARP FIGHTING. DE WET ELUDES CAPTURE. RUNDLE OCCUPIES BIDDULPHSBERG. (Received July 12, 1.30 a.m.) London, July 11. Generals Clements and Pagot after two days' sharp fighting captured Bethlehem, recovering a gun lost at Stormberg. There were 47 casualties. De Wet escaped, tha rugged country preventing pursuit. General Rundle has occupied Biddulphsberg. COMMANDANT DUPLESSIS KILLED. (Received July 12, 10.10 a.m.) Capetown, July 11. Commandant Duplessis has been killed near Rustenbury.
