HARAPEPE.
Creamery.— The Harapepe creamery closed for the season at the end of last month after a fairly prosperous season, the long droughts in the summer reduced the supply considerably, but the fine mild autumn somewhat made up for it. If the milk supply is laree enough I here that the creamery will re-open aslearly as August. The suppliers at the Karamu end of the district would like the creamery moved lower down nearer their district, but as the loss at this end would be about equal to the gain, if any, at their end, I hear that the building will remain where it is. Good News.—' The good news from the seat of war, viz. the relief of M&teklng and Kimberley, and the surrender of Johannesburg, and all the other successes of the British/ arms has been most welcome news to all Her Majesty s loyal subjects in this isolated district; but the people are too scattered to show their loyalty by any public demonstration, such as bonfires, fireworks, or the burning of old Kruger’s effigy, and flags are scarce if there are any f but I hope we are none the less good subjects of the Queen. , . Weather.— The weather for the past week in this district has been most suitable for all out of door work, although not the most pleasant, dry and a cold south wind blowing night and day.—■ (Own Correspondent)
