WAITEKAUBI V. TE AWAMUTU. The Waitekauri cricket team now touring the Waikato district, played the local club on Thursday. The match was decided on the first innings in favour of the visitors by nine runs. L’e Awamutu went fist to the wickets, and registered 63 runs of which the skipper, George Blackett, was responsible for 22. Waitekauri followed on, and with eight wick-ts down had 5(3 to their credit, and their first defeat during the present tour was looked upon as certain. With the ninth wicket down the visitors were still three runs behind and a had “ tail ” to follow. However, McMillan proved a good stone-waller and allowed Fenu, who played brilliantly right through, to score another victory for the “ Waitekaurics,” his score being 39 not out.
