THE BUBONIC PLAGUE.

(BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, This Day. A deputation from the Cliamber of Commerce waited on Hon. J. G. Ward, and introduced the subject of the Bubonic Plague. Mr Ward said the Government had taken all precautions and had virus, which killed the plague bacillus, iu its possession. It was stated that the Chamber saw the importance of this matter and however desirous its members might be to expedite the discharge of ve sels, it would back up the Government. Mr Ward said lie was glad to have that assurance, as it might be necessary to get vessels to lie in the stream and lighter goods, so as to prevent infection by rats getting ashore.
