MORE FORCES FOR THE FRONT. WOMEN USING THE RIFLE. (Received December 1,9.30 a.m.). Capetown, November 30. After the battle of Graspan, a Boer women fired upon the Lancers' patrol at Robe farm, killing one of them. Two battalions of Infantry tioual cavalry are being sent to reiuforce Lord Methuen. DKTAILS OF THE FIGHT AT COLENSO. THE WHITE FLAG ABUSED. THE AFRIKANDER BOND. Received December 1, 9 30 a.m. Hobakt, December 1. Cape files, before the British retirement from Colenso on November 3rd. show a decisive battle was fought, iu which the Boers weie utterly routed.
The Boers tried the old trick of hoisting the white flag, and when the British ceueed fire they were met with a terrific rifle firo at close quarters. The cavalry, seeing they were being deceived witli a truce, went through the Boer lines, cutting, slashing and lancing the enemy, who howled for mercy, but none was The infantry completed the work with the bayonet. It is estimated that 800 to 1000 prisoners were taken. The Gordon Highlanders fought in kilt* aad scarlet jackets, hnd had to cross a plain 1000 yards across before reaching the Johannesburg Corps, and it was marvellous how they got through, affordine as they did such marks for the enemy. One man was shot twice, once above the right eye and then above the left eyp. "He w-»s unconscious for three days, but still lives, and may soon be about. Another was drilled through the right knee from the right to the left side, and was unaware he was wounded until he had covered 600 yards, when he fell through los< of blood. _ The Afrikander Bond has indefinite y postponed the special Congress to have been held this mouth, which is looked upon as the death kuell of this powerful secret Society, that would in time undermine Imperial .authority in all parts of South Africa.
