The Cordova took no notice and the Magicienne fired blank cartridges across her bows. The French steamer then stopped. She was released after the examination of the manifest. French newspapers are clamouring for an apology and indemnity in connection with the incident. Paris, November 16. It is semi -officially announced here that the French Government awaits the report of the captain of the steamer Cordova, which was fired upon near Delagoa Bay. beforo taking diplomatic action.
