There was a fair muster of grown steers for wb’cb there is a good demand, young stock still maintain their prices, but dairy cows and beef are shade easier. Hairy cows, up to £4 15s poor demand ; springers, very good, up to £5 10a; mixed yearling?, £1 11 sto £1 18s ; three-year-old steers. £4 10s ; grown steeis very forward, £4 19s to £6 7-s fid ; two-year-old steers, £2 12s : 'aUvs, £1 5s ; empty cows, £2 T2s to £2 10s ; fat cows, £3 9s to £4 10sH 4. VVER A MARKETS. Tub F<imont Farmers' Umos (1/mixed), report.—We held onr usual monthly sale at Okaiawa on the27ch ultimo, when there was a lair entry of cattle. There was keen competition throughout, resulting in every line offered changing hands at the hammer Fat cows, £3 7-s to £3 10s; springers, £3 5i to £4 ; heifers in calf, £2 15a to £3 12s 6d ; yearlings, mixed, £1 3s to £1 18s fed. At our monthly horse fair on the 28th ultimo we submitted a very large entry if horses. The attendance was large, and bidding for useful horses was keen, resulting in \ very satisfactory sale. ’ Draught horses, £2O 5s to £3l ; light draughts, £l2 to £l9 ss; unbroken draughts, £lO to £2O 2s fid ; harness horses, £8 to £l7 10j ; hacks, £3 to £l/ ; light unbroken horses, £2 to £l3 On account of the Egmont A. and P. Association Show falling on our usual sale day at Mantua, we held onr sale on Monday, 30»h ultimo, when there was a fair yarding of cattle. Bulding for a ore steers was brisk, whilst female s’oek "ere hard to place.
