(BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION). Dcnedin, Last Night. Alfred T. Price, chemist, has been arrested on a charge of conspiring with Catherine Ashton to perform an illegal operation on Ellen Sequin. Price and the woman Ashton will be jointly charged on Wednesday. At to-day's sitting of the Conciliation Board the Secretary of the Seamen's Union reported that he had been unable to agree with the shipowners as to the scope of the agreement. The Board decided to report that it had been unable to bring the parties together, and the result is that the dispute now goes before the Arbitration Board. The loss by fire at the Times Office has been adjusted at £llOO. Masterton, Last Night. There are two Opposition candidates in the field for the Masterton seat, Messr9 C. E. Cockburn-Hood and F. Partons. They have agreed to refer the question to a committee as to which shall retire in favour of the other. Wellington, Last Night. Mr W. Eariihaw announces his candidature for Wellington City at the general election in the interest of honest administration, free Parliament and progressive legislation. The Wellington Woollen Company pays 8 per cent, dividend for the year. The case against Wilson, charged with a serious sssault on his wife, was hrard to-day. A different complexion was put upon it by the woman's evidence and the charge assumed a much less se'rious aspect. According to her evidence she assaulted her husband, and so far from having the sight of her eye destroyed ii; hid been blind for 20 years. Under these circumstances the case was dismissed.
