Report.—At Waihou on Friday last we held our annual spring cattle sale for the district, and yarded 788 very choice cattle. Although the day was a wretched one—rouriDK wet—there was a large attendance and the sale was one of the best we have held there. Competition was brisk throughout, and nearly every beaut was quitted at full rates—higher in fact than prices ruling in Waikato. Fat steers, up to £6 16s; fat cows, up to £5 5s ; choice fresh conditioned three and four-year-old steers, £5 to £6; empty cows and heifers, £2 10i to £3 ss; store three-year-old steers, £3 10s to £3 15s ; store two-year-olds, £2 10s to £2 15s; one and one and a-half year choice steers, up to £2 10s ; two-year-old heifers, up to £2 Is; sprincers, up to £5 16s for good ones, but mostly of an inferior class yarded. Butter and cheese have teen in great demand, and factory lots are eagerly snapped up tor the Home market. Eggs have again receded, but we have large orders for shipment and suppliers can rely upon 6fcd per dozen for any quantity. New cheese h now available and realising up to 4Jd per lb. Sydney fruit is very scarce and apples are clean out of the market; all lines ■re selling at top prices, local oranges realising 9s per case today. Fowls and pigs are in short supply and prices high. We quote : Fat bullocks, £6 to £5 10s; fat cows, £3 to £3 15s ; store bollocks, £4 5s to £4 17s 6d ; two to two and a-half year steers, £3 5s to £3 15s; yearlings to 18 months, £1 15s to £2 Is ; dairy cows and heifers, £3 to £5 10s ; store cows, £3 5s to £2 14s ; two-year heifers, £2 6b to £2 15s ; weaners, 11s to 18a 6d.
