CABLE SUMMARY.
Mrs Amy Douglas was sentenced to five years'.imprisonment at the Old Bailey on a charge of baby farming at Chingford. The medical evidence showed that thre3 infants in prisoner's care died from starvation, and that the bodies bore traces of feat fill neglect. The prospect of millions of foreigners not visiting the Paris Exhibition iegreatly helping the Dreyfus cause. An Anglo-Portuguese expedition punished a number of Central African marauding chiefs, who had taken refuge in Portuguese territory.
The strike of tramway employees at Cleveland is collapsing. It is estimated that the strike has involved a total loss to strikers, employers, and injury to trade, of one million pounds sterliug. It is reported that the Chicago Armour Wear Commission Company is organising a wheat corner.
