The Waikato Argus Office, Monday. MR W. J. HUNTER'S CAMBRIDGE HORSE SALE. Mr W. J. Hunter reports of his special horse sale, held at Cambridge, on August 31st and September Ist, that it was a record one, the class of horses being first-class, Weeds were conspicuous by their absence. The attendance was not unusually large, but those present were nearly all buyers or sellers, who wished to replace horses ; consequently, a brisk sale ensued. Buyers were in attendance from Woodville, Whangarei, Auckland and all Waikato districts. Some firstclass draughts made £36 to £37 and up to £4O, which was obtained for a splendid animal, bred and owned by Mr Alf. Main., junr. ; light harness and good hacks, were also well represented and realised good prices ; £2B being given for a real good spring cart horse from Graham Bros., Te Puke ; hacks made up to £2O. I also sold privately a seperior draught entire colt, about one and a-half year-old, on behalf of Mr D. Caley, jun., of Pukeritru, Waikato, to Mr G. McKay, cf " Ferry Farm," Waipu, at a very satisfactory price. This colt had splendid flat bone, grand quality of hair and kindly head, and should be an acquisition to the North. He was got by Better Times, out of Bonnie, by Bonnie Prince, out of Fan by Nugget. The prices were a 3 follows : —First-class heavy draughts, £32, £36, £3l and up to £4O ; medium do , £2O to £29 10s ; good hacks, up to £l6 ; spring cart horses, £l2 to £2B ; weeds, 10s to 30s ; unbroken draughts, from £l3 to £2O 10s ; light colts, £8 to £l4 10s.
