The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Acjkncy Company (Limited) report :—Auckland Wool Stores, August 30th. Our catalogue on Tuesday was a full one, and prices were very firm all ; - round. Hide 3 : We quote :—Stout ox, 5d to sfd ; heavy, 4Jd to 4fd ; light and medium, 4d to 4£d ; cow, 3£d to 4d ; calf, 4Jd to 5Jd ; kip, 3%d ; stags, 2fd. Sheepskins : Large, 3s 9d to 4s 64 each ; small and medium, 2s 6d to 3s 6d ; fine were a shade firmer than last week. Tallow : Beat rendered, 16s Gd to 17s 3d cwt ; rough fat, lb. Horsehair : Is id to Is 4d lb. Cowhair : lOd to lljd lb. Tails: Is 9d dozen. Maize is quoted at 2s 3d to 2s 4d on the wharf. Sydney ia atill drawing surplus. Oats are worth la 10(1, ex store ; ls9d to arrive in about a week'e time. Potatoes : £2 5s on the wharf. Chaff: Good quality is worth £2 at the railway. Messrs Alfred Bockland and Sons' Weeklt Report.—At the Haymarket meadow hay brought from Is 9d to 2s 3d ; oaten sheaves, la 3d to Is 6d cwt; wheat straw, 13s to 20s load ; oats, Is 8d to Is lid ; maize, 2s 5d ; wheat, 2s 4d ; cocksfoot, 6s 6d ; ryegrass, 4s 3d bushel; potatoes, 30s to £2 ; carrots, 20s ; chaff, 20s to 45s ; pressed hay, 403 to 50s; bonedust, £6 ; guano, £3 10s; bran, £3 15s ; pollard, £4 ton ; maize, on wharf, 2s 3d. On Friday a large number of medium to heavy draught horses sold freely. Prices for aged heavy draught were from £lB to £23 ; medium draught, £lO to £l7 ; light draught, £5 to £S ; drays, £4 to £7 ; buggy harness, £5 ; unbroken horses, light to medium draught, £3 10s to £l3 10s each. On Tuesday hides were at late values. Ox hides, from 4d to 4|d ; cow hides, 3|d to 3Jd ; calf skins, 3fd to 5d lb ; tails, Is lOd dozen; tallow, 17s to 17a 6(1 cwt; fat, l£d lb ; bones, 3a 3d cwt; fresh sheep pelts, 3s 3d to 4s 3d ; dry skins. Is 6d to 3a 8d each; dried wool, 3d lb. At Remuera on Thursday, a bright, sunny spring day made all cheerful. Bidding was brisk throughout. Few dairy cowa yarded. Tho?c were at late valuea. Store cattle, fully represented ; grown steers brought from £4 143 to £5 12s 6d ; dry cows, up to £2 8s; calves, numerous, . wero required ; prices ranged from 3s to £1 18a; 82 sold, Fat cattle, in less than usual number, but generally heavy weights and prime quality, were slightly better worth, and were from 17s to 19s 1001 b ; steers brought from £6 to £lO 7a 6d ; cows, £3 10s to £7 2s 6d ; 206 sold. Sheep, in average supply, were better worth than last week, about Is each. Prices for wethers were from 9s 6d to 173 6d ; ewes, 10s 6d to 15s ; hoggeta, 6s 6d
to lis 6d ; 1350 sold. A few spring lamba brought from lis 6d to 153. Pigs, in short supply, from light to medium weights, sold freely ; prices ranged from
8s to £1 12s each ; 50 sold. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Report.—Grain, seeds, horsefeed : Supplies have been up to the average, and a steady demand prevailed. There has been no noteworthy alteration in values. A brisk demand has continued for maize for the Sydney market at 2s 3d bushel on wharf, ex store 2s 6d ; feed oats, Is lOd ; Dun oats, la lOd ; bran, £3 15s ton ; oaten chaff, £1 13s to £2 ; potatoes.. £2 10s to £2 15s. Horses : For draughts of a good stamp there has continued a good demand. Most of those brought forward during the week were of a lighter description. The latter class predominated at the Durham Yards on Friday, and bidding for light horses was slow, but for some of the heavier soits brisk. We quote : Heavy draughts, from £l2 to £2S 10s each ; medium draught, £lO to £lB ; light harness, £4 10s to £ll 5s ; hacks, £4 to £lO 153 ; weeds, £1 10a to £2 lOd. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones : A large catalogue was gone through on Tuesday, under brisk competition, and prices were fully maintained.
