JTHE LANCASHIRE MATCH.
This match ended in a draw. The Australians made 140 in their first innings. Lancashire in their first made 184, and declared their second closed with no wickets down for 67. In their second innings the Australians made 36 for the loss of one wicket when time was called.

The weather is threatening for the opening of the match against Thorntou'a Eleven of England at Scarborough. The wicket was slow, and the attendance good. The Australians in their first innings made 232:—Trumble 60, McLeod 26, Trumper 14, Noble 24, Iredale 49, Gregory 1, Laver (not out) 21, Kelly 4, Jones 19, Howell 0, sundries 8 ; total, 232.
Wynyard took 4 wickets for 30, and Smith 4 for 94.
The England Eleven in' their first innings have lost 3 wickets for 54: Jones 17, Jackson 17, W. Gunn 2. Mitchell (not out) 10, Smith (not out) 4, sundries 4.
