Mr Seddon has replied to Mr Reid that his comments on the fiscal policy of New South Wales were based on the Auditor-General's reported deficit of £3,000 ; 000. He states that with pleasure he published Mr Reid's explanatory cable. He refers to the friendly feelings existing on the part of the Premiers and of the leading men of Australia towards New Zealand, and adds that his desire is to retain and promote these feelings.
