' —We offered a large catalogue of hides, skins, and butchers' products at our sale on Tuesday. Hides : Competition by local tanners was inactive, but buyers for export purchased freely, and prices were about the same as last week. We sold : Stout ox, 5d to ssd (no prime to hand) ; I medium, 4jd to 5d ; light, 4d to 4£d ; I cow, 3|d to 4d ; kip, 4d ; calf, 4d to I 4Jd; stag, 2fd to 3d. Sheepskins : Longwools easier by about 3d per skin ; half-bred and crossbred at late values ; large skins, 3s 6d to 4s 3d ; small and medium, 2s 6d to 3s 3d each. Tallow, 16s 6d to 17s 6d ; mutton, £1 5s per cwt. Tails, Is lOd per dozen. Horsehair, Is 3d to Is 4d ; cow hair, lid per lb. Maize : The heavy shipments that arrived this week were nearly all disposed of to Sydney at 2s 3d per bushel. Oats are worth is lOd ex store. At Remuera on I Thursday, dairy cows at profit were at - late values ; prices ranged from £5 to £6 each ; store cattle in full number ; steers sold freely ; cows, comparatively neglected ; fat stock of all kinds, yarded in i full numbers, were about 10 per cent, lower in value than at last week's mar- - ket. Cattle, in full numbers, 306 yarded, were better at end than commencement of sale ; steers were from £4 15a to £8 15s ; cows, £3 to £5 7s 6d each ; steers were from 16a to 18s 1001 b. ' Sheep, numerous, 1720 yarded, sold irregularly ; wethers were from 10s 9d to .17 6d ; ewes, 8s 3d to 12s 3d hoggets, 6s 6d to 9s 9d ; ewes in lamb, Us 6d each. Pigs pf a good class, from porkers to small bacon pigs, brought from 17s to £1 8s each ; amall pigs, 7s 6s to 10s ; 97 sold. At the country sales of cattle, held respectively at Pokeno and Runciman, the number yarded were less than usual; bidding waa 4 spirited, and prices throughout in favour of the seller Messrs ' Hunter and Nolan's Report.—Horsefeed, aeedß, grain : Sup?lies have been ample for requirements, rices for maize had an upward tendency, owing to shipments to Sydney ; other lines were quitted at the previous week's values. We quote : Maize on wharf, 2a 3d to 2s 4d, ex store 2a 7d ; ieed oata, la lOd to Is lid ; Dun oats, la 9d per bushel; bran, £3 15s per ton ; oaten chaff, at station, £1 17s 6d to £2 per tou, ex store £2 7s 6J ; carrots, 15s to £1 per ton, in slack demand ; Southern potatoes, £2 2s 6d per tou. Wool, hides, elans, tallow, bonea : Scarcely aa large quantities were pitched on Tuesday as en the previous week, but prices did not advance. Extra stout ox hides aold at from s£d to 6|d ; stout ox, 4jd to 5d ; light to medium ox, 3}d to 4d ; cow, 3-Jd to 3sd; stag, 2jd to 2|d; calfskins, 4}d to per lb. Tallow, 14« to 17s 6d per cwt; bonea, £3 5a per ton; sheepskins, small, 3s 4d to 2a 6d ; large, 2a 8d to 4s lid each; wool, unaltered in value. Cattle : Fat beasts wero brought forward in increased number, and stores have been § sufnutnt for winter requirements. There was a good muster at both the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday, and Waiuku on the previous Saturday. Fat cattle receded in value Is per 1001 b; other classes maintained the previous week's value. We quote : Ox beef, at from 17a to 19s per 1001 b ; cow, 15a to 16s; steers sold at from £5 us to £8 15s; dairy cows, £3 to £7 ss; stores sold at previous week's quotations. Sheep: The Newmarket pens were again well filled on Tuesday. Well-fatted maintained their value, but for those lacking condition prices were in favour of the purchaser. Wethers sold at from 10j fid to 17s 6d ; ewes, 8s to 12s 6d ; mixed sexes, 12s to 13s ; lambs, 8a 9d to 9s. Pigs: Scarce, without alteration in value.
