TE AWAMUTU TOWN BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the Tu Awamutu Town Board was held on Thursday evening last. 1 lie Commissioners present were : Mesms J. L. Man deno (Chairman), \Vm. North, T. R Gibson and Geo. Aider.

New Saleyards.—A rep'y was received from the Treasurer stating that as the saleyards not beicg a public work within the meaning of the Act to loan could be made under the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act for the woik. —The balance due on the property recently purchased for the yards was passed for payment. General Hatk.— The resolution mak ing a general rate of f d in the £ for the ensuing year was confirmed. Verandah.—Permission was granted to Mr G. L. Williams to erect a verandah over the footpath in front of his new building. Accou>T. > ». The following accounts were passed for payment: —W. Bearsley, £5 7s; C. Bygrave, £2 2s ; J. Pollard, 14s.

Wallace's Road.—The Chairman, and Messrs North and Gibson were requested to inspect the road to Bowden's property before formation was started. Walton's Crossing.—Mr Wedton was granted a set of 9-ineh pipes for his cros 9ing on the back road.
