(BT TELEaKAPH.—PBESS ASSOCIATION). Auckland, Last Night. A koyj named Henry Williamson, charged with firiug an air gun and shooting a pellet of lead in the eye of an elderly man, named John Dert, was fined £2 and costs 193. The balance-sheet of the Auckland 'Cycling Club shows the receipts at £s4s and a balance in hand of £23.
Mr R. Hobba received a requisition to day at the Chamber of Mine 3, with 1790 signatures, asking him to 6tand for the City. Ho consented to stand for the City, he said; in the interests of the Op position, believing the people wanted a change.
