Sutton's 'bus and coach plant, held at Hamilton, on Thursday last, although the wet day, we had a good attendance of the public, and for good serviceable horses, there was a ready sale, buggies and coaches, however, were dull of sale : —Sulky, £8 17s 6d ; single buggies, £9, £l3 15s, £l6 16s and £ls ; old double buggies, £6 15s to £lO ; useful buggy horses. £6 10s to £l2 ; medium draught colt, £ls 15s ; strong coaching stamps, £8 to £l3 ; pair grey, buggy horses advertised, made £35 ; upstanding brown gelding, £ls ; small hacks and buggy ponies, 30s to 70s ; altogether, 45 horseß were sold. Mlssbs Akthitk Tooman and Co.'s Refobt.—Despite dull times, we have been kept busy. The grain markets show no change, except maize which is higher in consequence of a temporary scarcity. Potatoes are remarkably dull —in fact, we cannot recommend consignments, nor do we see any "probability of improvement. Eggs, butter, bacon aid cheese all find quick sale. Poultry and good class of young pigs are each commanding keen competition and supplies are under requirements. Fruit is in remarkably heavy supply considering the lateness of the season, yet prices have ruled high in every case, dessert oranges excepted. Messes Alhx. Aitken (Limited) Report.—Despite the wet weather, our market sale was extremely well attended to-day, and consignments were above requirements. Potatoes and onions are very weak. Pumpkins, melons and vegetables are much firmer. Butter and eggs in full supply. Factory cheese ie scarce and firming. Apples and lemons took a good rise, Nelson and Waikato lines topping the market. Rabbits and hares wanted. Our poultry sale proved a great success, and prices realised were fair all round. Pigs are in short supply and the demand is good. Our next sale will be held in our new premises, Queenstreet, opposite Smcetoa s old mill.
