The Waikato Argus Offiok, Wedm sdiiy. MR W. J. HUNTER'S OHAUPO SALE. On Tuesday at Mr W. J. Hunter's yards about 400 head of cattle were yarded. The cattle were of good quality and in good condition. There were several pen 3 of nice steers, and a good line from the Awakiino district, off Mr Montgomery's run. Yearlings and young stock were numerous and sold at fair pi ices. Grown steers sold fairly well, up to £5 f>s. Only a moderate number of dairy cows was yarded, and with the exception of a few good spanning heifers, most of them were of a medium class, but there is still a demand for good springers. The following are the quotations:— Springing heifers, from £3 to £4 17s 6d ; dairy cows, Irom £3 to £4 lis ; yearling steers., 29s ; 18 months' steers, from 34s to £2 j 18 months' heifers, 34s ; grown steers, from £4 to £5; three-ye*r-old steers, from £3 7s to £4 4s ; two and »• half year steers, from £2 10s to £3 12s; empty cows, from 30s to £2 16s; fat cows, from £3 5s to £4 Bs, Sheep: About 400 were yarded. Wethers sold at 9a 3d ; a line of lambs was passed. ROTORUA MARKET. Mr VV. T. Raymond reports under date, June 12th.—At the opening sale of my mart at Rotorua to-day, there was a large attendance. Owing to supplies not coming forward produce was scarce, and vegetables, especially wanted. At 11 a.m. butter, prime dairy, realise • lOd per lb ; eggs, Is 6d to Is BJd per dozen : mutton, Id to 2d per lb ; good potatoes, 6s per sack, in small lots ; sale for potatoes limited ; pumpkins, 4d to 6d each, according to size ; onions, lgd per lb ; a few fowls sold readily ; roosters, Is 7d ; hens, Is 3d. In the afternoon I sold a considerable quautity of sundries All kinds of produce wanted for this mart, the sale of which by auction is conducted every Monday at 11 a.m. During the week consignments are sold at reserves. HAWERA MARKETS. The Egmont Fakmebs' Union repoit :—At the Glover Road Yards on the Bth inst. several lines of stock advertised did not reach the yards, but still a large entry came forward of both cattle and sheep. The attendance was large and bidding brisk from start to tinish, result ing in all the cattle being sold at the hammer with the exception of two small pens, and also the majority of the sheep changed hands before leaving the yards. Fat bullocks (light weights), £4 17s 6d to £5 7s 6d ; fat cows and heifers, £3 to £3 10s ; store bullocks, £3 15s to £4 6s ; two to two and a-half year steers, £2 10s to £3 lis 6d ; yearlings, £1 Is to £1 8s; store cows, £1 12s 6d to £2 10s ; springing cows and heifers, £3 to £4. Sheep : Fat ev?es, 9s to 10s 6d ; woolly lambs, 7s to 7a 6d ; shorn lambs, 6s 9d to 6s 3d. Pigsj: Slips, 12s.
