RAGLAN.
During the spell of fine weather for the past ten days settlers have been busy ploughing for spring crops. The bußhfellers have also been busy. Mr Norton of Pukoko, near Te Ma*a{purposen felling several hundred acres this season and other settlers contemplate charing smaller areas, so that the total average cleared will be considerable.
Those who have" been canvaosing for promises of milk supply to a cheeau factory have secured 400 cows so that there can be little doubt but that the factory will bo started. The natives located near the township of Te Kopua are busily engaged chaffing their oaten hay. They have a horsepower machine at work. The Mutual Improvement Society held their fortnightly meeting last week. Mr Henry (President) occupied the chair. The Rev. Mr Carr read an interesting paper on " Conscience."—(Own Correspondent) ______________
