THE ROUND OF DUTY.
With but very few exceptions all Sons of Adam, from the highest to the lowest, are sentenced to toil of some description in this world. But how toilsome becomes the daily duty when sickness prostrates the worker ; rheumatism, for instance, with its attendant agonies, often compels the sufferer to lay up. Mr Walter Tye, milkman, of 33MoArthurstreet, Ultimo, Sydney, spent a year of his life in bed through an attack of this complaint. Mr Tye says : " You can see, of course, that in my trade, one can't stop indoors on rainy days, or even wrap up to much extent, when it should be necessary to do so. Wet or tine, the weather must be faced, and a man must be very lucky who can set chills at defiance. Eighteen months ago, my system became invaded with rheumatism of the acutest kind. \ny fellow-sufferer knows the symptoms ; I would feel sudden twinges of agony ; my joints were stiffened ; I found it impossible to stoop or bend with case. If anyone even pretended to touch me I would cry out with anticipation of pain. The uoise of, say a falling chair, would give a thrill of anguish, and make me clench my teeth in dewpe'ation. At night, steady sleep was out of question, every hour could be counted, as I lay awake, praying for the twiuges to be lulled. My body was a regular barometer ; rainy weather would develop the shooting pains to their worst, till I felt that nipping with whitchot pincers would be quite a welcome change. Oils, liniments, and medicines were tried in desperation, anything to give relief to a pain I fancied chronic. Through the advice of a neighbour I pnrchased some boxes of Dr. "Williams' Pink Pills for Pale people. After the third box I b°gan to experience a little relief—the spasms and twinges of pain lessened, The pains decreasing, I was able to get better sleep, and everyone knows what a blessing that is. The elasticity begin to return to my muscles, and 1 regained their use. It was just as if a rusty door had been oiled. Once the medicine began to take effect, my improvement in health was rapid. I have taken eight boxes altogether, and they have certainly worked a wonderful cure. I can now go back to my business without fearing a return of my old symptoms. But for Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People, I should still be crippled and unable to work. I heartily recommend them to all sufferers from rheumatic complaints."
