Inn Waikato Argus Office, Wednesday. HAWERA MARKETS. Tut: Egmont Farmers' Union report :—At Stratford, on the sth inst., the weather was everything but favourable to the sale, which prevented but few stock coming forward :—Two and a-half year-old steers, £2 17s 6d to £3 10s ; cows and calves, £1 17s 6d to £2 5i ; empty heifers, £1 8s to £1 19s ; 18 mouths steerß, £1 lis to £1 ISs 6d. At the Glover Yards, on the 11th inst., barely the advertised number of cattle came forward, but more sheep. The attendance was large and bidding throughout was spirited, resulting in satisfactory prices being maintained and nearly every line of stock changing hands at the hammer :—Fre*h forward bullocks, £4 5s to £4 153 ; two and a-half to three-year-old bullocks, £3 Is to £4 2s 6d ; two-year-old steers, £2 5s to £2 17s Gd ; fresh forward cows, £2 5s to £2 15s ; weaners, 7s 6d to 15s Sheep : Fat ewes and wethers (choice), lis 6d ; store wethers (two-tooths), 8s id ; empty ewes, 63 'd to 6s lOd ; shorn lambs, 5s lOd to 63 Id ; shorn lambs (culls), 2s 9d.
