TE AWAMUTU.
Town Board.—A meeting of the Town Board was held on Thursday eveirng last, when all were present —Dr. Pairman applied for permission to erect a temporary fence on the road adjacent to his property, bo as to allow the clearing of the gorse, etc., more effectually.—lt was decided to inspect the road before auy decisiou is given.--Commissioners Gibson and Teasdale were authorised to have the footpaths and crossings attended to. —It was decided to have the Station Road footpaths cleaved up —Mrs Spragg complained that the water was allowed to stand in a low spot near her residence after any rain, and which Ehe believed was the cause of one of her children being laid up with fever.—lt was decided to attend to the matter at once. Mr W. Bearsley was appointed do"-registrar for the ensuing year.—Mr Thomas Gresham offered the scenery used at the play, " The Bur Jar and the Judge," at a valuation.-The offer was declined, as the committee have no use for it.—The accouuta pasted for payment were :—Merry weather, £2 17s Gd ; White, 10s ; Smith, 12s Gd ; Dawson, 17s ; Aubinand Co, £3 4s lid. Pekmikr.—Preparations are now being made to welcome the Premier, who is expected here about the end of the niTinth.—(Own Correspondent).
